The Orangery

Up to 150 guests

With its full-length bifolding doors opening onto the gardens, the Orangery is our most popular ceremony space, seating up to 150 guests for your vows and up to 90 for a seated wedding breakfast.

Filled with natural light throughout the day, it’s a favourite backdrop for photographers, and the doors can be thrown open on warmer days so your ceremony feels connected to the grounds beyond.

The Ballroom

Up to 240 guests

Connected directly to the Orangery, the Ballroom can be combined with it to host your full wedding for up to 240 guests, or used on its own for a smaller celebration.

It’s the space most couples choose for their evening reception, with room for a full band, DJ and dance floor without ever feeling crowded.

The Dining Room

Up to 50 guests

For a smaller, more intimate wedding, the Dining Room seats up to 50 guests and looks out directly over the gardens.

It’s especially popular with couples planning an elopement or a small family wedding who still want the full exclusive-use experience without the scale of our larger spaces.

YOUR WEDDING BREAKFAST

Our in-house team of chefs have carefully created a delicious three course wedding meal, using local suppliers and produce wherever possible. When eighty or less guests are dining we give you more choice, meaning you can choose up to three dishes per course to offer to your guests.

Some real exotica: an Atom, Ferrari, Lambos, Aston old and new, Bags, modern classics, all very pretty. Nice nosh and drinks. £2.50 entrance plus 50 pence to the Nidlands Air Ambulance, a donation to the air ambulance for hot drinks (suggested £1:50 each). Great vfm.

Most couples begin with a private viewing, walking the Hall and grounds together and talking through dates, guest numbers and the kind of day they’re picturing. Once you’ve booked, you’ll have a series of planning meetings in the run up to your wedding, covering everything from your ceremony structure and menu tasting through to table plans, suppliers and the smaller details that make the day feel like yours.

In the weeks before your wedding, your coordinator will confirm final numbers and timings with you, then be on hand throughout the day itself to make sure everything runs exactly as planned, so you and your families can simply enjoy it.

Spring and summer weddings make the most of the gardens, with the Orangery’s bifolding doors open onto the lawns for photographs and outdoor drinks receptions.

We welcome couples from across Cheshire, from Nantwich and Crewe to Chester and beyond, drawn to Tern Hill Hall for the same countryside setting and exclusive-use privacy they’d expect closer to home. Being just over the Shropshire border means you get the elegant grounds, the orangery, and the same dedicated coordinator throughout, often at a more accessible cost than venues deeper into Cheshire itself.

WEDDING FAQS

Planning your dream wedding at Tern Hill Hall? We’ve gathered answers to the most frequently asked questions to help make your special day as seamless and stress-free as possible.

Absolutely Yes! We just ask that all confetti is natural petals and not paper or foil and is used outside of the building only. Strictly no confetti cannons are to be used inside or outside.

Unfortunately we do not allow pets inside the Hall, including for ceremonies. Why not book a pet chaperone to bring your furry loved one for a few photos outside after your ceremony.

As we are situated in the countryside we are surrounded by livestock so we do not allow fireworks to be set off in our grounds.

1pm is the earliest time for a Civil ceremony here at the Hall. This allows plenty of time to ensure both we and your suppliers have everything set ready for your day.

This is very common, given that guests can be ordering their food six months ago! We ask that you include guest orders somewhere on each table as a gentle reminder to them. One of the best places for this is on the reverse of any name cards, where our servers can discreetly point them in the right direction.

Our bars close and all entertainment ends at 12am We suggest guests arrange carriages for 12.15am.

We always recommend allowing at least 1 to 1.5 hours for the drinks reception after your ceremony before being called into the Wedding Breakfast. As a rule of thumb we allow two hours for the three course meal to be served with additional time for speeches and for tea and coffee to be served.

Evening guests are usually invited to arrive from around 7.30pm with the cutting of the cake and first dance around 8-8.30pm. Evening food is often served shortly afterwards.

If we have availability for you to come in the day before then you are very welcome to decorate or set up as required from 12pm to 5pm. If we have another event which means that this is not possible then we will decorate and set up for you under your instruction making sure everything is exactly as you planned.

We always recommend guests pre book their taxis as they can be very difficult to get hold of at the end of the evening.
